just a few comments from 2001 through to 2006 - see them and more in the Ferry House Guestbooks
- Grand merci, cher Jimmy
- wonderful to stay here again
- it has been wonderful to awake to an ever changing vista
- it is reassuring to know that Glenelg and Ferry House remain unchanged in time
- another fantastic week... the snow looks spectacular, unbelievably making Glenelg look even more beautiful. We have seen herons and buzzards, and otters playing in the bay below the house.
- Ferry House is all that we hoped it would be - the cottage is lovely and the views amazing
- Ferry House will always have a special place in our hearts
- First year - one week - second year - two weeks - third year - three weeks
- Blue skies, warm sun, big wind, big rain, spectacular waterfalls, tasty suppers, warm fires, good company, the lot! We love it here. Thank you.
- Highlights - the otters, seals, the ferry, the sheep, the Cuillins ... this truly feels like a home to us and we hope to return.
- We never want to go home after our stays at Ferry House.
- A magic place in a magic land.
- Drama, drama, drama - and sky, sea, mountains - it was all, at times, almost too much - which is why I want to come back so.
- When it snowed on Christmas Night, Glenelg became a Winter Wonderland. It was so good to take in the peace and beauty of the countryside again.
- One week wasn't long enough, walked every day but only scratched the surface. Weather was superb... Loved coming back to the cosy cottage each evening. Definite plans to come back again as there is so much to see and do... Thank you, Jimmy, for your warm and friendly welcome.
- We spent your first evening reading your fascinating visitors' book - got to be the most interesting I've ever come across. I feel like I know all your regular visitors and I certainly know why they keep coming back.
(An excerpt from a review by Sian Lloyd in the Mail On Sunday)
A gang of us had decided to escape from frantic London... finally we reached the Ferry House, perched on a rock overlooking the green waters of Kyle Rhea.
Had we worked our way through every Scottish holiday brochure in existence, I doubt we could have discovered a better location.
The owner, Jimmy Watt, lets out the adjoining Coach House, and contemplating the views in the changing light from the Ferry House is a pastime in itself.
But, be warned: a week just isn't enough in Glenelg. With its vast green sea lochs and tiny dark lochans, the monumental splendour of the mountains, and the clusters of small whitewashed cottages, this is a magical place and we fell under its spell.
