This area has always been well-known for otters. A few miles down the coast, Gavin Maxwell raised the otters made famous in his book "Ring of Bright Water". Today, there is a sanctuary and hide just across the water from Ferry House. There, and at Ferry House itself, sightings are frequent, especially at quiet times of the day - although they can never be guaranteed.
The picture on the right and the following videos were all filmed at Ferry House. The video clips, as with all videos, are large files and will take several minutes to download, depending on your connection speed. There are also smaller, and lower quality, files, which have been converted to Flash format and which are suitable for streaming over a 56K modem.
